Everything readers and organisers look for

Readers want to know what you've written and where to buy it. Festival and book-club organisers want a bio, a photo and a way to invite you. Meera puts your books, biography, press bio, events and journal on their own pages, with an Invite button on every screen.

  • New-book feature on the home page
  • Books page with one section per title
  • Biography and short press bio
  • Readings and events table

Grow your readership

A newsletter box on the home, journal and invite pages collects names and emails, and each sign-up arrives in your inbox. The invite form lets organisers say what they want, from a book-club visit to a rights enquiry.

  • Newsletter sign-up form
  • Invitation form with enquiry types
  • Buy-link placeholders on every book
  • Spam trap and input checks

Easy to keep up to date

Books, events and journal teasers are simple HTML blocks you copy and edit. Colours and fonts are set in one place, and Person schema, titles and descriptions are ready for search engines.

  • Copy a block to add a book
  • Events as table rows
  • Person schema markup
  • Colours and fonts in one CSS block

The pages, and what readers do there

The home page introduces you in two lines, features your new book with its buy links, shows your other titles, a short hello from you, journal teasers and the newsletter box. Books gives every title a section with its genre and year, a blurb, format and page count, notes such as book-club guides or translations, and three link slots (two stores and your local bookshop), including a coming-soon book with pre-order wording. About tells your story, how you write in four steps, and a short third-person biography that organisers can copy. Events lists upcoming dates with the venue and entry, and the kinds of events you enjoy. Journal shows post teasers with a topic and reading time; each one is meant to link to a full post you add yourself. Invite has the enquiry form, what to include, and a second newsletter box, and Contact has a plain message form. The books, events and bio in the demo are fictional samples.

  • Home, books, about, events, journal, invite and contact
  • Short press bio for organisers
  • Coming-soon book block
  • Friendly 404 page

Your admin panel as a writer

Open your-domain.com/admin/ and create your login. Invitations, reader notes, contact messages and newsletter sign-ups are all saved in the Enquiries inbox and emailed to you, each tagged with its form, so a festival invite does not get buried under sign-ups. Download the list as a CSV and import the sign-ups into whichever newsletter tool you use. Set your name, photo or logo, email, phone, WhatsApp number and its opening line if you want one, social links and colours, and they update on every page. You can also add an announcement bar for a launch date, live chat, Google Analytics, a cookie notice or maintenance mode. Books, events and journal teasers are edited in the HTML files.

  • Invites and sign-ups in one inbox
  • CSV export for your mailing list
  • Announcement bar for launches
  • Social links and colours in one place

Inside the zip, and putting it online

You get the HTML pages, stylesheet, scripts and photos, the PHP form handler, config.php, the admin panel, a README and an illustrated installation guide. Upload it to cPanel or any shared hosting with PHP 7.4 or later, create your admin login and paste your licence key to switch the forms on; each key activates one live domain, and testing on your own computer needs no key. Data is kept in SQLite, created on first run through PHP's pdo_sqlite extension, or in MySQL if you prefer. Email is sent with PHP mail() or your own SMTP server.

  • Plain HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
  • SQLite built in, MySQL optional
  • PHP mail() or SMTP
  • No WordPress to update

What it does not do

There is no shop, cart or ebook download: buy links point to the stores you choose. It does not send newsletters, confirm subscriptions or manage unsubscribes, it has no blog editor or comments, and event tickets are not sold through it. Forms take up to eight messages from one visitor in ten minutes, and a hidden field stops most spam bots.

  • No book sales or payments
  • No newsletter sending
  • Journal posts added as your own pages
