What it does

Adds an optional, unticked box at checkout in the Code Craft HTML + PHP shop templates: shoppers who tick it and leave without ordering get one reminder email after a delay you choose, with a link that restores their cart and an unsubscribe link. Nothing is stored without that consent, carts that turn into orders are marked recovered and never reminded, and the links are signed so they cannot be guessed or changed. An admin screen lists captured, reminded and recovered carts. Tested on local copies of the shop templates with a test mail server.

  • Consent box at checkout (unticked by default)
  • One reminder after a delay you set
  • Restore-cart and unsubscribe links, signed
  • Recovered carts never reminded

Works with

This add-on is for the 12 Code Craft HTML + PHP shop templates (Kora, Annapurna, Bunkar, Giftsy, Harit, Mithas, Nazar, Petal, PhoneZone, Pukka, Pustak, WoodCraft). It is sold separately and has its own licence key. Upload its folder into the website's addons/ folder and switch it on in Admin → Add-ons; no code changes.

  • Site core 1.1 or later
  • Drop-in folder, no code changes
  • Its own settings screen and licence key

Who it is for

It is for owners of one of the 12 Code Craft HTML + PHP shop templates (Kora, Annapurna, Bunkar, Giftsy, Harit, Mithas, Nazar, Petal, PhoneZone, Pukka, Pustak and WoodCraft) who want a polite second chance when a shopper starts checkout and leaves, without collecting anyone's email behind their back. Nothing is saved unless the shopper ticks the opt-in box. It needs no outside service: reminders go out with your website's own email settings (SMTP or PHP mail()).

  • One of the 12 shop templates, site core 1.1+
  • Opt-in only
  • Uses your site's email settings

Settings you control

In Admin → Add-ons → Abandoned-cart email → Settings you set the text of the checkout box (default: Email me a reminder with my cart if I don't finish my order.), how many hours to wait before the reminder (1 to 168, default 2), the email subject and the text above the list of items, where {name} becomes the shopper's name. You also choose after how many days saved carts are deleted (1 to 365, default 30). Unsubscribe requests are always kept, so that address is never stored or emailed again. Mention cart reminders in your privacy policy.

  • Your own opt-in text
  • Delay of 1 to 168 hours
  • Subject and message with {name}
  • Automatic clean-up of old carts

What the shopper and you see

A shopper who ticks the box and types their email has their name, items and total saved. If no order with that email follows within your delay, they get one plain-text reminder listing the items that are still available, with a link that puts the same items back in the cart and an unsubscribe link. Both links are signed with your site's secret key, so changed or guessed links are refused. An order from that address marks the cart as ordered, so nobody is reminded about something they bought. Admin → Add-ons → Abandoned carts lists carts as waiting, reminded, ordered or unsubscribed, with a delete button and Send due reminders now.

  • One reminder with a restore link
  • Unsubscribe in one click
  • Admin list with four statuses

How reminders are sent, and the limits

Due reminders are checked at most every 10 minutes after a page has been sent, so timing depends on visitors; for exact timing call the cron URL shown on the settings screen every 15 minutes. There is one reminder per cart and at most one per address every 7 days, with no multi-step email sequence. The restore link opens the cart in whichever browser clicks it, and prices and stock are checked again there. It was tested on Kora and Pustak with real PHP 8.3 and a local mail sink: no consent, one reminder only, tampered links, ordering, unsubscribing, the cron key and the licence gate.

  • Optional cron URL every 15 minutes
  • No email sequences
  • Tested with a local mail sink
