Sell mithai by the box

Sweets are bought by the box, so every product in Mithas is a box or a pack with its weight, piece count and shelf life listed. Customers filter by dry sweets, syrup sweets, namkeen or gift boxes, choose a box size and pay cash on delivery, by UPI or bank transfer, or collect from the shop.

Festivals, weddings and office gifting

Diwali and wedding season bring the biggest orders. The Gift boxes & bulk page shows three box options with indicative prices, and the bulk order form asks for the occasion, delivery date, slot and number of boxes. The request arrives in your inbox so you can send a quote.

Orders, delivery areas and payments

Each order is emailed to you and to the customer and appears in Admin → Shop → Orders, where you move it from pending to shipped and delivered; the customer gets a status email each time. Delivery charges are set by area or postcode, with free delivery over an amount and shop pickup. With UPI the customer scans a QR code for the exact total, and you mark the order paid. Every price and total is recalculated on the server.

The pages your customers see

The home page opens with today's counter of sweets and namkeen by the box, a short story about your kitchen and a gift-box teaser. The shop page lists every box with search, category filter and sorting; the demo comes with twelve products across dry sweets, syrup sweets, namkeen and gift boxes, each with a line for box weight and piece count, how long it keeps and where it is delivered. The delivery, freshness and returns page is written in plain words (same-day local delivery, which sweets travel across the country, how to store syrup sweets, what happens if a box arrives damaged) and is sample text you replace with your own policy. The contact page has your address, phone, WhatsApp, email, hours and a message form.

Your admin, set up for a mithai counter

In Admin → Shop you add a new sweet, upload its photo, and add 250 g, 500 g and 1 kg boxes as variants with their own price and stock, so a size that sells out on Diwali morning stops taking orders. Make a coupon for a festival offer with an expiry date, set free delivery above an amount, and keep syrup sweets local with postcode-based delivery zones. Bulk quote requests and contact messages land in the Enquiries inbox as well as your email. Your shop name, phone, WhatsApp number, address, map and opening hours are set once in the admin and appear on every page.

What is in the zip and how it runs

You get the HTML pages, stylesheet and JavaScript, the PHP shop engine and admin panel, the demo products and photos, an .htaccess file, a README and an illustrated installation guide. Upload it to any cPanel or shared hosting with PHP 7.4 or later, open /admin/ to create your login, paste your licence key and place a test order. SQLite is built in, so there is no database to create; MySQL is optional.

What it does not do

Mithas does not plan delivery routes or take card payments on its own. Razorpay, Stripe, PayPal and Cashfree are separate add-ons with their own licence, tested against mocked gateway responses, not real payments. Bulk and wedding orders go through the request form and are quoted by you, not priced in the cart.
