How it works

From order to a live website

  1. 1

    Buy the add-on

One-time price. Your download link and licence key arrive by email and in My Account.

  2. 2

    Drop it in

Upload the folder to addons/ and enable it in the admin.

  3. 3

    Configure

Pick Razorpay at checkout, pay with UPI, card or netbanking in the Razorpay popup, and come back to a paid order once the signature checks out.

What it does

Adds Razorpay as a payment method to Code Craft Store: Laravel Ecommerce. The add-on creates a Razorpay order for the exact total (in paise for INR) and opens Razorpay Checkout. When the payment completes, the signature Razorpay returns is checked with your key secret (HMAC-SHA256 of order id and payment id) before the order is marked paid, and an optional webhook is accepted only with a valid X-Razorpay-Signature and a matching amount. You need your own Razorpay account. It follows Razorpay's Orders API and Standard Checkout documentation and was tested against mocked Razorpay responses, not with real payments.

  • Razorpay Orders API + Standard Checkout
  • Payment signature verified with your key secret
  • Optional signed webhook (payment.captured, order.paid)
  • Amount and currency checked before marking paid

Requires Code Craft Store for Laravel

This is an add-on for Code Craft Store: Laravel Ecommerce, sold separately. Upload its folder to the store's addons/ folder and configure it in Admin → Add-ons; no Composer or code changes needed. Each add-on has its own licence key.

  • Works with Code Craft Store for Laravel 1.0 or later
  • Installed in minutes on cPanel, Hostinger or a VPS
  • Its own settings card in the admin

Who needs it and what you need first

It is for shops running Code Craft Store: Laravel Ecommerce that sell mainly in India and want UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets through Razorpay. You need the store (1.0 or later) on PHP 8.3 and your own Razorpay account with API keys. The webhook is optional but recommended, and needs your store on HTTPS. The shopper pays inside Razorpay's own Checkout window, so no card or UPI details pass through your server, and the add-on brings no extra Composer packages.

  • Your own Razorpay account
  • Store 1.0+, PHP 8.3+
  • HTTPS domain if you use the webhook

Setting it up in Razorpay and in your admin

In the Razorpay Dashboard open Account & Settings → API keys and create a key pair (rzp_test_ while you test). For the webhook, add https://your-domain/webhooks/razorpay with the events payment.captured and order.paid and a secret you choose. In the store open Admin → Add-ons, enter the Key ID, Key secret, webhook secret and the add-on licence key, set the checkout colour if you like (default #1f5f4a), tick Enable and save. Then tick UPI, cards & netbanking (Razorpay) in Admin → Payments.

  • Webhook address: /webhooks/razorpay
  • Events: payment.captured and order.paid
  • Checkout colour setting

What happens during a payment

When the shopper places the order, the add-on creates a Razorpay order through the Orders API for the exact total in the order's currency, in paise for INR, with your order number as the receipt. A page from the add-on then opens Razorpay Checkout. When Razorpay returns, the add-on checks that the Razorpay order id is the one saved on your order and that the signature equals HMAC-SHA256 of the order id and payment id with your key secret; only then is the order marked paid. The webhook, if set, is accepted only with a valid X-Razorpay-Signature and a matching amount and currency. An order already paid is not marked paid twice.

  • Razorpay order created on the server
  • Signature verified with your key secret
  • Webhook amount mismatch: note added, not paid

Honest limits

It was tested only against mocked Razorpay responses in the store's feature tests (order creation and signature verification, the webhook signature), never with real money. Use rzp_test_ keys and a test payment first. Refunds, settlements and disputes are handled in your Razorpay Dashboard. Razorpay decides which currencies and methods your account can accept; three-decimal currencies are not handled by this add-on.

  • Mocked tests only
  • Refunds are made in Razorpay
  • Razorpay fees apply

After the payment: what you see in the admin

In Admin → Orders the order moves from pending to paid with a history entry saying it was confirmed by Razorpay, and the Razorpay reference is saved as the order's payment reference. The customer and you get the usual status emails. If Razorpay reports a different amount or currency, the order is not marked paid and a note in its history asks you to check your Razorpay account. From there you ship the order as usual: processing, shipped with a tracking number and link, then delivered.

  • Payment reference saved on the order
  • Status emails to the customer and you
  • Mismatch notes in the order history
