Where they started
Industrial B2B has a discovery problem that consumer ecommerce doesn't. Buyers search by specification — a rating, a phase configuration, a standard — not by brand, and they're usually comparing three suppliers against a procurement checklist. Much of this sector's online presence lives on third-party directories like TradeIndia, which means the supplier competes for their own name and captures none of the specification-level search. Meanwhile the sectors served, railways, mining and defence, each have distinct procurement processes that a single generic enquiry form serves badly.
What we did
We built product architecture around how the buyer searches: specification-led pages for UPS by phase and rating, stabilisers by capacity, filters by application, so a procurement engineer searching a technical requirement lands on the right page instead of a homepage. Sector pages address power, telecom, railways, mining and defence separately, because the credentials and compliance evidence each needs are different. Enquiry flows were rebuilt to capture the technical detail that lets a quote be produced without three rounds of email, and the whole site was positioned to own the branded and specification search that directory listings were absorbing.
