No. The price shown is our service fee for preparing and filing your paperwork. State and federal government filing fees are separate, vary by state, and are paid directly to the filing agency — we show you the exact amount before you confirm anything.

Basic covers just the state filing — you'll still need an EIN, an operating agreement and a registered agent, which you can add separately. Pro bundles those in. Premium adds expedited filing and a full year of registered agent service.

Most states don't legally require one, but banks often ask for it to open a business account, and it's the document that governs what happens if a member leaves or the business is sold. We'd recommend it even if your state doesn't.

By default, profits and losses pass through to your personal tax return — the LLC itself doesn't pay federal income tax. You can elect to be taxed as an S-corp or C-corp later if it suits your situation; that's a decision to make with an accountant.

We check your submission against your state's requirements before filing, but if the state rejects it for a reason outside our control (a name conflict, for instance), we'll refile once at no extra service charge — you'd only owe a new state fee if the state charges one for resubmission.
